Recent tiger sightings along the Srisailam-Hyderabad highway near Vattarapalli have raised safety concerns among devotees. Passengers traveling on the highway captured video footage of a tiger strolling along the roadside, emphasizing an ongoing risk. Given the frequent movement of tigers at night in this area, Forest Department officials have advised against nighttime travel on this route.
Last week, a tiger was also observed near Achampet in the Nallamala forest region, specifically on the road near Tirmalapur in Amrabad. After a brief appearance on the road, the tiger retreated into the forest.
In a separate incident, a leopard was recorded by CCTV near the residence of Patalaganga Devasthanam’s Assistant Executive Officer, Mohan, seen climbing a boundary wall and carrying away a dog. Multiple sightings of this leopard around Patalaganga have left both local residents and visiting devotees concerned. The leopard’s latest appearance behind the AEO’s residence has further heightened local anxieties
