The Telangana State Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TGSPDCL) has announced a significant change affecting electricity consumers across Telangana. In an official statement, the department declared the suspension of electricity bill payments through digital platforms like PhonePe, Paytm, Google Pay, and Amazon Pay. This decision comes in response to directives from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and will be implemented starting July 1. Henceforth, consumers are instructed to exclusively use the TGSPDCL website or mobile app for settling their electricity bills.

A message addressed to customers stated, “We regret to inform you that we are no longer accepting electricity bill payments through service providers such as PhonePe, Paytm, Amazon Pay, Google Pay, and Banks, as per RBI guidelines. We kindly request all customers to make their monthly electricity bill payments through the TGSPDCL website or TGSPDCL mobile app from July 1, 2024 onwards.
