BRS Working President KTR responded on X (Twitter) to comments made by CM Revanth Reddy regarding metro expansion. He slammed the Congress government for completely failing to advance the Metro Phase-2 project in Telangana. KTR criticized that the lack of central government approvals for Metro Phase-2 so far is proof of Revanth Reddy’s incompetence.
He fumed that CM Revanth Reddy, lacking the courage to confront the central government and the Prime Minister directly, is instead blaming the opposition to cover up his own failures. KTR mocked on Twitter that despite visiting Delhi nearly 71 times since taking office as Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy has been completely ignored by the central government and has utterly failed to secure the state’s interests.
CM Revanth Reddy launched sharp criticism against Union Minister Kishan Reddy over his stance on the Metro Rail expansion project. The CM alleged that Kishan Reddy is functioning under KTR’s direction and that BJP and BRS are jointly obstructing the metro expansion. He charged that BJP and BRS MLAs represent the very constituencies where metro expansion is supposed to happen, and are therefore deliberately stalling the project.
Meanwhile, CM Revanth Reddy stated that the metro expansion project requires a total of ₹40,000 crore. Claiming that all arrangements have been completed, he revealed several key figures. He said they had secured a loan of ₹13,400 crore at just 4% interest for a 20-year tenure. He also stated that ₹48 crore in document fees and ₹1,400 crore in equity toward this loan transfer have already been paid. The CM alleged that Kishan Reddy stepped in to obstruct the process exactly when the loan was about to be disbursed.
CM Revanth Reddy demanded that Kishan Reddy explain why the IRFC loan is not being released after everything was made ready. He questioned whether Kishan Reddy is personally blocking the loan sanction, and asked him to speak responsibly on the matter.
