Hyderabad/Amaravati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh over the next three days. Several districts in both states are expected to receive significant rainfall accompanied by strong winds, lightning, and thunderstorm activity.
In Telangana, the IMD has forecast heavy rains in Karimnagar, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Warangal, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, and Vikarabad districts. Orange and yellow alerts have been issued for these regions. Gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 km/h are also expected.
In Andhra Pradesh, moderate rainfall is likely in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Manyam, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Kakinada, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, and Guntur districts. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 40–50 km/h, accompanied by thunder, lightning, and the possibility of lightning strikes.

Precautionary Measures Advised
Authorities have urged residents to remain indoors and avoid standing near electric poles or trees. People living in low-lying areas have been advised to stay alert as heavy rains may lead to waterlogging and localized flooding.
Both state governments have directed district administrations to stay vigilant and take necessary precautionary measures. Disaster response teams have been placed on standby to address any emergency situations arising from the inclement weather.
