In a significant move, the Andhra Pradesh government has handed over the investigation of the attacks on the TDP central office and Chandrababu’s residence to the CID. The attacks, which occurred during the previous government, are alleged to have been orchestrated by YSRCP leaders. Reports suggest they were carried out with the belief that actions taken while in power would go unquestioned.
YSRCP Leaders Summoned for Interrogation
YSRCP leaders Lella Appi Reddy, Talasila Raghuram, and Devineni Avinash have been summoned for questioning by the police in connection with the case. The three leaders appeared at the Mangalagiri rural police station, where they are being questioned about their activities and interactions on the day of the attacks.
The incident dates back to October 19, 2021, when several YSRCP leaders, including Avinash, Appi Reddy, and Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, along with 14 others, allegedly attacked the TDP central office. Following the TDP’s return to power, the accused sought anticipatory bail, which was denied by the High Court.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s Alleged Involvement
There are also allegations pointing to the involvement of former government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy in the attacks. Authorities are likely to question him as part of the ongoing investigation. A faster investigation by the CID is expected to bring more clarity to the case and reveal further details on the accused leaders’ roles.
