Hyderabad: The political confrontation between Union Minister Kishan Reddy and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has intensified, with both leaders engaging in a heated exchange of statements. Responding to Revanth Reddy’s criticism, Kishan Reddy challenged him to provide evidence that he had obstructed any development project.

Countering Kishan Reddy’s claims, Revanth Reddy, in a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, alleged that the Union Minister speaking like that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was sending bundles of cash from Gujarat via trains. He clarified that the Telangana government was not questioning Modi’s or Kishan Reddy’s assets but was demanding the state’s rightful share of funds from the Centre. He reiterated that the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion had stalled due to Kishan Reddy’s interference.

Revanth Reddy further accused the Centre of ignoring Telangana’s request for funds to clean the Musi River while approving projects for rivers like the Sabarmati, Ganga, and Yamuna. He alleged that Kishan Reddy was playing an obstructive role in Telangana’s development and questioned whether Modi’s previous announcement regarding the Regional Ring Road project was misleading.

The Chief Minister also demanded answers on why the Metro Rail project was not included in the Union Cabinet’s agenda and who was responsible for delaying its approval. He challenged Kishan Reddy to name a single major project he had secured for Telangana.

Revanth Reddy criticized the BJP’s stance on reservations, pointing out that Muslim communities in BJP-ruled states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh continue to benefit from BC reservations. He questioned why similar reservations were being opposed in Telangana. Additionally, he asked why the BJP government in Andhra Pradesh had not implemented SC categorization despite being in power.

Regarding the approval of metro rail projects, Revanth Reddy questioned why the Centre had granted clearance for Tamil Nadu but not for Telangana. He accused Kishan Reddy of deliberately stalling the project and demanded a clear timeline for its approval.

Revanth Reddy also alleged that BJP was attempting to weaken South Indian states through constituency delimitation based on population. He warned that such a move would create a political and economic imbalance, urging for a seat-based delimitation approach instead.

Asserting that the Congress party was committed to strengthening its organizational structure, Revanth Reddy dismissed allegations of corruption, stating that his government was focused on securing Telangana’s rightful resources rather than engaging in illegal activities. He vowed to counter BJP’s alleged political strategies against the southern states.
