Telangana Minister Konda Surekha on Thursday publicly apologized to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy following allegations made by her daughter, Konda Susmita, and matters concerning her former OSD, Sumanth. Speaking to the media after a Cabinet meeting, Surekha described the recent disputes as stemming from a “misunderstanding” and emphasized that family disagreements are natural. She clarified that her daughter had approached the CM in anger, and she conveyed apologies on Susmita’s behalf, stressing that there are no personal differences between her and CM Revanth Reddy. She also referred to the Congress as a single family, noting that occasional conflicts are to be expected.

The controversy had intensified when Konda Susmita accused leaders from the Reddy faction within the party of conspiring against her mother politically. Susmita alleged that the faction was united in sidelining BC leaders and directly named CM Revanth Reddy, Minister Ponguleti, and Vem Narender Reddy as being behind the purported conspiracy. She also claimed that the CM’s brothers were attempting to encroach on family lands with Revanth Reddy’s support, raising serious concerns about political and personal interference.
These allegations had sparked significant political tension in Telangana over the past few days. Surekha’s public apology appears to have helped defuse the situation, signaling a temporary resolution to the dispute. Party sources indicated that the incident underscores the challenges of internal party dynamics and the sensitive nature of family-linked political controversies in the state.
