The Telangana government is preparing to distribute the Yasangi Rythu Bharosa (farmer assistance) under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. After successfully disbursing nearly ₹9,000 crore to farmers’ accounts within just 9 days during the last monsoon season, the government is set to repeat the process for the Yasangi season. As a special gesture for the Sankranti festival, the government plans to provide investment support to farmers, allocating ₹18,000 crore in the state budget for this scheme.

With over 1.5 crore acres of agricultural land in the state, the government intends to distribute ₹12,000 per acre for both crops. In the previous monsoon season, ₹8,744 crore was distributed to 69.40 lakh farmers. For the current Yasangi season, officials estimate a similar need for funds. The government is preparing for the disbursement as soon as the finance department issues its directives, aiming to complete the process by the second week of January so that funds can be deposited into farmers’ accounts before the Sankranti festival. The exact dates for Rythu Bharosa distribution are expected to be confirmed before the end of the winter assembly session, which begins on January 29.

The Agriculture Department has been continuously updating the agricultural data across the state, with Extension Officers uploading details onto the crop booking portal. Officials are assessing the number of farmers and acres to be covered under the Rythu Bharosa scheme for the current season, estimating a need for ₹6,000 per acre. They are prepared to submit the required details to the Finance Department as soon as the instructions are received.

To ensure accurate identification of eligible land, the government has decided to conduct a survey using satellite imagery to exclude non-arable lands, such as hills, rocks, and barren areas, from the scheme. A cabinet subcommittee has already gathered opinions from farmers, farmer associations, political parties, and agricultural experts. The survey will be led by the Jayashankar Agricultural University, and after completion, the Rythu Bharosa funds will be disbursed.
