Hyderabad: In light of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the central government has declared a nationwide high alert, with heightened security measures put in place at sensitive locations such as public areas, historical monuments, and parks. As part of these precautionary measures, the sale and bursting of firecrackers have been prohibited across the country.
The Hyderabad City Police have issued directives in accordance with this order, announcing a ban on the sale and use of firecrackers in the city. Given the current security situation, particularly with Pakistan’s recent drone and missile attacks targeting India, authorities expressed concerns that the bursting of firecrackers could lead to public panic. There is a potential risk of confusion among the public and law enforcement, with firecrackers potentially being mistaken for explosive devices.
The police have urged citizens to avoid bursting firecrackers at public gatherings, weddings, or other events. The government has enforced a similar ban on firecracker sales and usage nationwide, warning of legal actions against individuals who violate these restrictions.
