News has emerged on social media regarding the release of a family digital card application by the Telangana State Department of Consumer Affairs. However, the state government has recently responded to these claims. It clarified that no family digital card application has been released so far and stated that no applications are currently being accepted.
There are ongoing campaigns urging families without ration cards in villages to complete their applications and submit them along with Aadhaar numbers, members’ birth certificates, and a family photograph to local Village Revenue Officers (VROs).
As a result, there has been a noticeable rush at photocopy centers and tahsildar offices. Ultimately, this matter has come to the attention of the government and the Department of Consumer Affairs. In this context, the department has reiterated that no applications have been released and has advised the public not to fall victim to middlemen.
