The Telangana government has issued a statement regarding the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) land dispute, countering allegations of land acquisition. Minister Sridhar Babu dismissed claims of government interference, stating that the administration is addressing a longstanding issue without causing harm to biodiversity. He asserted that ownership rights over 400 acres in Survey No. 25, Gachibowli, belong entirely to the state government.

The minister emphasized that the Congress government secured these land rights through legal battles in the High Court and Supreme Court. He clarified that no portion of this land belongs to HCU and warned that any attempt to challenge this legally would amount to contempt of court.

Accusing opposition leaders and real estate interests of misleading students, Sridhar Babu cited official records to support his claims. He stated that on January 13, 2003, the then-government allocated the land to IMG Academies India Pvt Ltd through Memo No. 39612/ASSN/V(2) 2003. However, after the company failed to initiate its project, the allotment was canceled on November 21, 2006 (Memo No. 111080/S1/2003) and reassigned to the Andhra Pradesh Youth Advancement, Tourism, and Cultural Department.
