Hyderabad: In response to the severe weather conditions affecting the state, the Telangana government has declared a holiday for all educational institutions tomorrow. Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that both government and private schools and colleges will remain closed.
During a media briefing, Minister Reddy highlighted the government’s proactive stance in managing the situation, stating that comprehensive relief measures are being undertaken to assist those impacted by the floods. He also noted that precautionary steps have been implemented to prevent loss of life. The minister revealed that holidays for all government departments have been canceled. Additionally, he reported disruptions in transportation between Khammam and Suryapet, with floodwaters affecting several ponds and highways. Reddy urged MLAs and MPs to engage in field-level relief efforts and reported significant crop damage across various regions. He cautioned that extremely heavy rainfall is expected tomorrow and advised the public to avoid going outside until the evening.
