Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has questioned the need for seeking approvals from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for darshan, stating that Telangana has its own Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA) at Yadagirigutta. Speaking at an event in Hyderabad’s Ravindra Bharathi, he announced plans to establish a comprehensive temple administration system in Telangana.
Concerns Over Tirumala Access for Telangana Representatives
Revanth Reddy expressed dissatisfaction over Telangana legislators having to repeatedly request recommendation letters for Tirumala darshan. He highlighted the presence of prominent temples in the state, including Lord Rama’s temple in Bhadrachalam, Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple in Yadagirigutta, and Shiva temples in Ramappa, urging people to prioritize Telangana’s temples over Tirumala visits.

His remarks follow growing complaints from Telangana public representatives, who allege that since the coalition government took charge in Andhra Pradesh, they have not been accorded due respect at Tirumala. Several MLAs and MPs have publicly stated that their recommendation letters were ignored by TTD authorities, leading to calls for the Telangana Chief Minister to address the issue with the Andhra Pradesh government and TTD officials.
