Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy have launched the distribution of fine rice for ration card holders across the state. The initiative was formally inaugurated at a public meeting in Huzurnagar, Suryapet district.
Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari announced that the statewide distribution would commence in April. She also revealed that nearly 10 lakh new ration cards would be issued. However, she acknowledged that the fine rice distribution scheme would place an additional financial burden on the state government.

Meanwhile, CM Revanth Reddy participated in the Ugadi celebrations at Ravindra Bharati in Hyderabad, where he outlined key developmental initiatives. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the rejuvenation of the Musi River and the establishment of “Future City,” a project aimed at generating large-scale employment.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Future City is designed not only as a residential hub but also as a major investment destination. He highlighted Telangana’s record paddy production of 1.56 lakh metric tonnes in 2024, stating that even during the united Andhra Pradesh era, such production levels had not been achieved. He also announced that farmers cultivating fine rice would receive bonus incentives.
