Telangana Cabinet greenlights ration card issuance

The Telangana Cabinet has made several significant decisions, including transforming the Dharani Portal into the Bhumaatha Portal. The Cabinet also approved the issuance of new ration cards and formed a sub-committee for this purpose. This committee will include Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Damodar Rajanarasimha.

The Cabinet meeting, which lasted for approximately an hour and a half, saw many crucial decisions being made. Notably, ₹437 crores were allocated to the Gouravelli Project. Additionally, the Job Calendar was approved and is set to be released by CM Revanth Reddy in the Assembly tomorrow.

The Cabinet expressed condolences for the victims of Wayanad and decided to provide aid to those affected. Furthermore, it was decided that cricketer Mohammed Siraj and boxer Nikhat Zareen will be offered DSP positions. A sub-committee was also formed to oversee the merger of suburban municipalities and corporations within the GHMC, consisting of Ministers Sridhar Babu, Seethakka, and Ponnam Prabhakar.

The Cabinet has once again recommended the names of Kodandaram and Ali for MLC positions to the Governor. It was resolved to offer the position of Municipal Commissioner to Hari Ratan, the son of the late Intelligence DG Rajiv Ratan, who died in the line of duty. Similarly, the son of the late Additional DG P. Murali will be offered the position of Deputy Tahsildar.

The revival of the Nizam Sugar Factory was also on the agenda, with the Cabinet approving measures to address pending payments in the second phase. These responsibilities have been handed over to the ministerial sub-committee led by Industries Minister Sridhar Babu.

The Cabinet approved the transfer of water from Mallanna Sagar to the Shameerpet Lake and further to the twin reservoirs of Hyderabad, Osman Sagar and Himayat Sagar. A total of 15 TMC of water will be transferred, with 10 TMC being used to fill the lakes and the remaining water allocated for Hyderabad’s drinking water needs.
