Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly budget session is scheduled to begin on March 12 and will continue until March 27. The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
The Cabinet approved the SC categorization draft bill, with the Chief Minister directing officials to finalize the draft after legal consultation to avoid any legal challenges. Discussions were also held on BC reservations, with deliberations on providing 42% reservations for BCs in education, employment, and politics.

The meeting reviewed objections to the Justice Shameem Akhtar Commission’s recommendations, with three recommendations already approved. The Cabinet also discussed Telangana’s water dispute with Andhra Pradesh and the strategy following CM Revanth Reddy’s recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
Key administrative decisions were taken, including the approval of 10,950 new Village Level Officer posts, 217 posts for new revenue divisions and mandals, and 55 posts for 10 district courts.
Meanwhile, CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, and other senior leaders will visit Delhi on Thursday to discuss MLC candidates under the MLA quota with the Congress high command. The final decision on candidates will be taken as per the AICC’s directive.
