T. Raja Singh, MLA from Goshamahal, has made sensational remarks calling for a boycott of the upcoming India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2025. He stated that it would be better if the match is not played at all and urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reconsider its decision. Citing the Pahalgam attack, Raja Singh said India has not forgotten the incident and claimed that the entire nation is opposing the match.

Uddhav Thackeray Calls Playing Against Pakistan ‘Anti-National’

Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), had earlier criticized the decision to play against Pakistan, calling it anti-national. The Shiv Sena (UBT) has maintained that India should not continue cricketing ties with Pakistan after the Pulwama attack. This has led to a war of words between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (UBT), further intensifying political tensions around the high-stakes clash. The India-Pakistan match is scheduled to take place on September 14 as part of the Asia Cup 2025. Due to ongoing political and terror-related tensions, the two nations do not play bilateral series, but continue to face each other in tournaments organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

Strong Start for Both Teams Ahead of High-Stakes Encounter

India began their campaign with a dominant nine-wicket victory over United Arab Emirates, bowling them out for just 57 runs. Pakistan also started strong, defeating Oman by 93 runs with powerful performances from both their batting and bowling units. Historically, India and Pakistan have met 16 times in the Asia Cup, with India winning nine matches, Pakistan winning six, and one ending without a result. Given the current form and squad strength of both sides, experts predict a closely fought contest, with the outcome likely to be crucial in determining the group’s top position.
