This marks Williams’ eighth spacewalk since her first in 2012, bringing her total spacewalking time to 50 hours and 40 minutes. During this mission, she collaborated with NASA astronaut Nick Hague to successfully address the technical challenges. Williams currently serves as the station commander.

Williams and Wilmore embarked on their mission to the ISS in June 2024 aboard the Boeing Starliner capsule for an eight-day assignment. However, due to the technical complications, their scheduled return to Earth on June 14 was delayed. NASA now anticipates their return in March or April 2025.
