The buzz around the Graduate MLC elections has begun in Telangana. The Election Commission has started preparations to fill the soon-to-be-vacant Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduate MLC seats. In this regard, the schedule for the Graduate MLC election voter list has been released. State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharshan Reddy released the schedule for preparing the new voter list for the Graduate MLC constituencies of Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda districts on Thursday.
The terms for these two constituency seats are set to end in March 2027. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, officials are gearing up to prepare a new voter list. Officials have announced that this process will be carried out considering November 1, 2026 as the qualifying date. With the terms of Surabhi Vani Devi, who represents the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar Graduates’ MLC seat, and Teenmar Mallanna, who represents the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda seat, ending next March, the Election Commission is preparing to draw up a new list.
As part of this process, the Election Commission will issue a public notice on the 20th of this month for the registration of graduate voters. Following this, applications will be accepted from voters until November 6. The draft voter list will be released on November 25. Objections will be accepted from November 25 to December 10. The final voter list for graduates will be released on December 30.
Old voters must also apply afresh:
The Election Commission has made it clear that even those whose names were on the previous graduate voter list must reapply this time using the new Form-18. It clarified that names will not be directly carried over based on the old voter list. It advised that applicants must attach certified copies of the required educational qualification certificates along with their application. It stated that eligible graduates have the option to apply online through the CEO’s official website, https://ceotelangana.nic.in. Alternatively, the CEO’s office explained, applicants can fill out the prescribed form and submit it, along with the required documents, either directly or by post, to the ERO/AERO/designated officers.
