The ongoing investigation into the alleged phone tapping during the previous BRS government in Telangana has taken a new turn, with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) now preparing to record the statement of Union Minister and BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar. The SIT, constituted by the current government to probe the illegal surveillance allegations, has already questioned several individuals and arrested multiple suspects in connection with the case.
According to sources, the SIT has found that the phones of Bandi Sanjay and some of his close associates were among those allegedly tapped. In light of this, SIT officials reportedly contacted the Union Minister over the phone and requested his cooperation in the investigation. He has been asked to appear at the SIT office to provide a formal statement.
Responding to the request, Bandi Sanjay is said to have conveyed his willingness to appear before the SIT anytime before June 23, stating that he would remain available until then. The SIT is now making arrangements to record his statement as part of its broader inquiry into the alleged misuse of surveillance mechanisms during the previous administration.
