Hyderabad: The Vande Bharat Express operating between Secunderabad and Vizag has emerged as a resounding success, receiving significant passenger support. In response to the growing demand, South Central Railway has announced a major update to improve travel experiences for passengers on this route.

Effective January 13, South Central Railway will double the number of coaches on Train No. 20707/20708 Secunderabad-Vizag-Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express, increasing the total number of coaches from 8 to 16. The number of chair car coaches will be expanded from 7 to 14, raising the train’s seating capacity from 530 to 1128. Railway authorities have encouraged passengers to utilize this expanded service.
In addition, to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the Sankranti festival, South Central Railway has announced six unreserved special trains operating between Charlapalli and Visakhapatnam. Despite the introduction of numerous special trains earlier, the high demand for travel during this festive period has prompted these additional services to alleviate overcrowding.
