The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a bumper offer for foreign job seekers looking for employment in the country. It is now giving people the opportunity to come to the UAE and search for a job even without a local employer or sponsor. Through the newly introduced “Dubai Job Exploration Visit Visa,” eligible candidates will be able to travel directly to Dubai, attend interviews, and take part in recruitment processes to look for job opportunities. For this purpose, single-entry visas will be offered with validity periods of 60, 90 and 120 days. This gives eligible Indian job seekers the flexibility to travel to the UAE without any prior job offer and search for work there — attending interviews and participating in the hiring process on the ground. The Emirati government has released these details. For those who would rather job-hunt directly from Dubai instead of applying for positions while still in India, this visa represents an excellent opportunity.
Candidates seeking jobs in the UAE will be able to choose a visa with a validity of 60, 90 or 120 days depending on how long they expect their job search to take. There is also a provision to extend the visa duration, subject to applicable rules and approvals, which could allow the total stay to be extended to a maximum of 180 days.
Who can apply?
Not everyone who applies will be granted this visa. The UAE government will issue visas based on educational qualifications, skill level and financial resources. This visa has been designed primarily for skilled professionals. Applicants are generally required to hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, and the jobs they are seeking must fall under Skill Level 1, 2 or 3 as classified by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE).
Recent Indian graduates are also eligible. Those who have completed a degree within the last two years from one of the world’s top 500 universities, as recognised by established international rankings, will qualify for this visa. In addition, applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient financial means to cover their expenses during their stay in the UAE.
Documents required for Indian applicants
Those applying for this visa should have the following documents ready:
– A passport valid for at least six months
– Recent photographs
– Attested (certified) educational qualification documents
– Proof of financial means, where applicable
– Any other documents required depending on the applicant’s category
Applications can be submitted online through the official websites of the GDRFA Dubai or the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP). Applicants must enter their personal details, select the desired visa duration, upload the required documents, and pay the fee online. Once the application is approved, the visa is issued electronically as an e-Visa.
The visa does not guarantee a job
Obtaining the Dubai Job Exploration Visit Visa does not mean a job is guaranteed. Candidates should independently verify the latest eligibility requirements, fees and visa rules through the UAE government’s official channels. Authorities have also advised job seekers to be extremely cautious of agents or agencies that promise, for a fee, to secure them a UAE job or visa.
