Telangana BJP State President N. Ramachandra Rao, after concluding his visit to Delhi, spoke exclusively with Rtv and outlined key developments related to party affairs, organisational discussions with the central leadership, and preparations for upcoming elections in the state. He also addressed the recent controversy involving Union Minister Bandi Sanjay’s family.
Speaking on the controversy linked to Bandi Sanjay’s son Bhagirath, Ramachandra Rao clarified that the issue is a personal family matter and has no connection with the BJP organisation. He stated that central leadership in Delhi did not question him regarding the matter and added that any information available to the party high command may have been sourced from media reports or independent inputs. He further noted that the case is currently under judicial scrutiny and refrained from making further comments.
The BJP state president alleged that certain political groups are attempting to defame the party by using Bandi Sanjay’s name. He asserted that the party’s growing influence in Telangana is not being accepted by rivals. Reiterating support for the leader, he said Bandi Sanjay remains a key figure in the organisation and assured that such controversies would not impact the party’s functioning or unity.
Ramachandra Rao also stated that during his Delhi visit, he submitted detailed organisational reports to the BJP national leadership, including a comprehensive review of the recent public meeting addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Telangana. He said he met BJP national general secretary (organisation) B.L. Santhosh and discussed internal party structure and the prevailing political situation in the state. He also extended an invitation to Telangana BJP in-charge Nitin Nabin for the upcoming state executive meeting.
On the upcoming GHMC elections, Ramachandra Rao said extensive discussions were held with the central leadership regarding election strategy, with the party treating the Greater Hyderabad polls as highly significant. He indicated that senior leaders from other states, along with local cadres, would be assigned as in-charges for the campaign. He added that the BJP high command is closely monitoring Telangana politics and asserted that the party would adopt a more aggressive approach in the coming days, while also criticising the BRS, stating that the public no longer trusts the party.
