The controversy surrounding BRS leader and former Tandur MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy has taken a fresh turn, following a recent police raid on his farmhouse in Moinabad. The incident, involving an alleged drug party, has already sparked widespread attention in Telangana. Now, the farmhouse located in Aziz Nagar has come under further scrutiny, with allegations that it was constructed on encroached assigned land.
The property, spread across approximately 2.20 acres in Survey No. 177/33, is recorded as being registered in 2006 in the name of Rohith Reddy’s father, Vittal Reddy. However, government “Bhu Bharati” records reportedly show the land under the name of a different person, Jangaiah, raising serious questions over ownership and legality. Revenue officials have prima facie identified that the farmhouse was built on assigned land, where sale and registration are prohibited under law.
Authorities have launched an inquiry into how such a registration was permitted and which officials may have facilitated it. Revenue officials are currently collecting details of those involved at the time of registration. The farmhouse has already been seized, and further action is expected once detailed reports regarding the construction and land status are finalized.
The issue gained prominence after police raided the farmhouse based on information about a gathering and detained 11 individuals. During the operation, drugs were reportedly seized, and six individuals were found to have consumed them. The premises, along with vehicles present at the site, were seized. Rohith Reddy, who was earlier linked to the MLA poaching case, has once again come under the spotlight, with the BRS party issuing a show-cause notice over the latest controversy.
