Hyderabad: BJP Legislature Party leader Maheshwar Reddy launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday, alleging that he is deliberately stalling the much-anticipated Cabinet expansion due to internal dissent and fear of losing control over key departments.
Speaking to the media, Maheshwar Reddy described Revanth Reddy as the “mastermind and conspirator” behind the delay. He questioned why Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has remained silent despite the Chief Minister publicly declaring that the state is in a financial crisis. “This silence indicates a widening rift between the CM and his Finance Minister,” he claimed.
He went on to allege that differences have emerged within the Cabinet following the CM’s controversial remarks regarding government employees. “Several ministers are unhappy and are no longer backing the Chief Minister,” Maheshwar Reddy said. He accused the government of planning to declare a financial emergency in order to avoid disbursing employee dues and fulfilling welfare schemes.
Highlighting internal discontent, he said the Cabinet has effectively split into two factions, with a growing number of ministers opposing the CM’s decisions. He further pointed to a gap between Revanth Reddy and the Congress high command, citing Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Hyderabad during which he did not meet the Chief Minister. “Senior Congress leaders are openly stating that Revanth’s leadership could keep the party out of power for another ten years,” Reddy remarked.

The BJP leader also criticized the appointment of Ramakrishna Rao as Chief Secretary, alleging that it was part of a broader plan to push a financial emergency. He said the CM is not meeting his ministers and is holding review meetings at his residence, which is causing inconvenience to senior leaders.
Reddy further alleged growing tensions between the Chief Minister and the Revenue Minister over land issues. “Revanth believes more ministers are against him than in support, which is why he’s hesitant to expand the Cabinet,” he said.
He claimed that the CM fears losing grip over important portfolios if new ministers are inducted and accused him of assigning insignificant departments like Endowments and Transport to backward class (BC) leaders. “Key complaints against the CM are already with Rahul Gandhi,” he added, concluding with a jab that Revanth has started referring to fellow ministers as ‘Chief Ministers’, a sign of his political isolation.
