In a relief to unemployed youth, the Telangana government has officially extended the application deadline for the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme until April 24. The orders were issued on Monday following demands from aspirants who faced technical glitches during the initial application phase.
The Congress-led government launched this flagship scheme aimed at promoting self-employment among economically weaker SC, ST, BC, and Minority youth in the state. Under this initiative, the government is prepared to disburse ₹8,083.23 crore in loans to 4,42,438 eligible beneficiaries.

Due to several technical issues, a significant number of aspirants were unable to apply before the original deadline, prompting appeals for an extension. NSUI leaders even met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday to request more time for applicants. Responding to these appeals, the government issued revised orders extending the deadline.
The application process, which began on March 15, will now remain open until April 24. Beneficiaries will receive sanction letters on June 2, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day.
