Following the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Indian Air Force Chief Marshal A.P. Singh recently claimed that the Indian military destroyed six Pakistani fighter jets during Operation Sindhur. However, Pakistan has categorically denied these assertions. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated that none of their aircraft were damaged in the alleged Indian strikes. “We have shared these details with international media, and for three months there were no disputes. These delayed claims lack credibility,” he said.
At a separate event in Bengaluru, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh elaborated on Operation Sindhur, describing it as a precisely planned mission completed within 80 to 90 hours. He said the operation inflicted significant damage, including the destruction of five Pakistani fighter jets and one large aircraft. Singh further revealed that the Indian Air Force targeted the Shahbaz airfield in Jacobabad, which houses an F-16 hangar, severely damaging more than half of the F-16s and other fighter jets stationed there.
