India’s strong military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, carried out under **Operation Sindoor**, continues to weigh heavily on Pakistan. Following India’s strikes on terrorist hideouts inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Islamabad has reportedly heightened security along the Line of Control (LoC), deploying advanced drone-based surveillance systems to monitor aerial activity in border areas.
The April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, had shaken the nation, with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists killing 26 civilians, including newly married couples and children. In retaliation, the Indian Air Force carried out targeted air strikes on Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed camps as part of Operation Sindoor. Security sources indicate that close to 100 terrorists were eliminated in the operation, triggering concern within Pakistan’s military establishment.
In response, Pakistan has reportedly deployed over 30 anti-drone units along the LoC through its 12th Infantry Division, with similar systems installed in areas such as Rawalakot in the Poonch sector. These systems are said to be capable of detecting small aerial objects up to 10 kilometres away and neutralising threats within a limited range. Meanwhile, Pakistan is understood to be in talks with countries including Turkey and China to further strengthen its drone capabilities, even as aggressive rhetoric from its leadership continues to raise regional security tensions.
