Islamabad: The Pakistan Army confirmed that Indian forces conducted strikes in several areas including Kotli, Muridke, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad. In an official statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that eight people were killed and 22 others injured in the attacks. DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry condemned the action and stated that Pakistan would retaliate “at a time of its choosing.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif responded to the developments, terming the Indian action as an “act of war” and assuring the nation that Pakistan would deliver a firm and timely response. “The enemies targeted five locations inside Pakistan. Our nation and armed forces will not let this go unanswered,” he said. “Pakistan knows how to respond and will not allow any hostile designs to succeed.”
