HYDERABAD: MLC Balmoor Venkat, along with student leaders, staged a protest at My Home Vihanga, raising slogans against the BRS and BJP parties. The protest was centered around allegations concerning the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) land issue. Venkat accused the two parties of pretending to maintain a favorable relationship with HCU, despite ongoing issues related to government land.
Venkat claimed that in 2004, the HCU Registrar had signed an agreement to transfer 534 acres of land in the Kanchegachibowli Survey 25 area to the government. However, he asserted that only 397 acres had been officially handed over in return. He revealed that of the 534 acres, 400 acres were allocated to IMG Bharat and 120 acres to employee unions, but criticized IMG Bharat for failing to honor the agreement.
The MLC further stated that the government had fought a legal battle to prevent these lands from falling into private hands, claiming that 400 acres of government land had been reclaimed through court action. He also accused some parties of attempting to hand over these lands to private individuals.

Venkat highlighted the allocation of 25 acres to My Home Vihanga during the BRS government’s tenure, where large buildings had been constructed. He claimed that a 100-foot road had been built for just two buildings.
Additionally, he accused former minister Srinivas Goud of attempting to illegally occupy 20 acres of land designated for employee unions, using false names. Venkat suggested that Goud’s statements were motivated by the fear that the government would recover the land.
Venkat questioned why a fact-finding committee had not been sent to inspect the My Home Vihanga constructions on government land, and raised concerns about the environmental impact of the developments. He also criticized K.T. Rama Rao for not taking action when the 25 acres were allocated. He accused the BRS government of acting out of personal interest by transferring government land to My Home Vihanga.
