Tirumala: Devotees on the Alipiri footpath route to Tirumala were gripped by panic on Saturday following a leopard sighting near the 300th to 350th steps. The wild animal was reportedly spotted by pilgrims trekking up the hill, prompting many to flee in fear.
Following the incident, vigilance personnel swiftly reached the location and collected preliminary information. As a safety measure, temple authorities have begun allowing devotees to proceed only in groups under close monitoring.
This is the latest in a series of leopard sightings along the route in recent months, raising concerns over the safety of pilgrims and prompting calls for enhanced wildlife surveillance and preventive measures.
