Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Friday predicted that by-elections are inevitable in Telangana within the next six months. He expressed confidence that senior Congress leader Pocharam Srinivas Reddy will be defeated in Banswada and warned that the BRS will continue its legal battle until Pocharam loses his MLA post. “If the Speaker fails to act, we will once again approach the Supreme Court,” KTR said.

Addressing a gathering at KCR’s residence in Erravalli, where several Congress leaders and hundreds of workers from Banswada joined the BRS, KTR launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress. He alleged that despite inheriting a strong welfare and development model, the government had failed to implement its promises or sustain earlier programs. He demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy apologize to the people and admit his inability to govern.

KTR accused the Congress of losing public trust in just 21 months of rule, citing unfulfilled promises, betrayal of trust, and the CM’s “arrogant style of functioning” as key reasons. He further alleged that the Revanth Reddy government had borrowed over ₹2.20 lakh crore in less than two years without introducing any major welfare or development schemes.

On the issue of urea shortage, KTR claimed the Congress government was deliberately withholding supplies to deprive farmers of crop procurement bonuses, describing it as evidence of the government’s “malicious intent” toward the farming community.
