Hyderabad: The war of words between BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and Andhra Pradesh BJP MP CM Ramesh has escalated, with both leaders trading serious allegations. KTR accused CM Ramesh of being behind the controversial Kanche-Gachibowli land mortgage deal and alleged that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy helped facilitate a contract in the ‘Future City’ project as a return favour.
Responding to these claims, CM Ramesh dismissed the accusations related to the Rs 1,660 crore Ritwik company contract in Telangana as baseless. He countered by alleging that KTR had visited his residence in Delhi during MLC Kavitha’s time in jail, proposing a merger between BRS and BJP in exchange for her release — a claim he says KTR is now trying to deflect from.
In reply, KTR accepted CM Ramesh’s challenge and invited both CM Ramesh and Revanth Reddy for an open debate. He said he is ready to discuss both the alleged Rs 10,000 crore scam involving the mortgage of HCU lands and the Rs 1,660 crore road contract controversy. He reiterated that his earlier statements have now been proven true, alleging that diversion tactics are being employed as the scams are coming to light.
KTR further accused Revanth Reddy of blatantly violating rules and awarding contracts to cronies. He slammed the BJP and Congress for bringing up BRS-BJP merger talks to confuse Telangana citizens, asserting that BRS is a party born for Telangana and there is no question of merging with any national party.
