Hyderabad: BRS Working President K. Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) has launched a sharp attack on CM Revanth Reddy, accusing him of neglecting his duties over the past year and prioritizing personal and family interests. Speaking about the ongoing land acquisition protests in Lagacherla, Kodangal constituency, KTR alleged that Revanth Reddy was working solely for his relatives and for his son-in-law’s benefit, rather than addressing the concerns of local farmers.
KTR claimed, “For the past year, a battle has been ongoing in Kodangal under Revanth Reddy’s rule, and his focus has been on seizing land in Lagacherla to benefit his son-in-law’s dowry, destroying the region’s fertile lands.” He also criticized the CM for not implementing promised programs such as the Rythu Bandhu (Farmer’s Welfare Scheme) and loan waivers for farmers.
Addressing the issue of the protests in Lagacherla, KTR stated that Revanth Reddy had filed false cases against the protesting farmers and sent them to jail. “If Revanth Reddy has any dignity, he should resign. We don’t need to campaign for this. Narendra Reddy can file his nomination and secure a 50,000 majority,” KTR challenged.
KTR also praised local farmer Jyothi Sivangila, referring to her as a “land warrior” for her relentless fight against the land acquisition. He expressed confidence that Revanth Reddy would face defeat in the Kodangal constituency, adding, “If Revanth Reddy wins, I will retire from politics.”
KTR further accused the CM of using false charges against the farmers to facilitate the acquisition of valuable land worth crores of rupees for his own associates, criticizing the alleged misuse of power for personal gain.
