Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that Congress’s victory in the Jubilee Hills by-election has significantly increased the party’s responsibility toward the people. He noted that while Congress did not achieve major results in the recent general elections in Hyderabad, the by-election results after two years reflect the public’s trust and endorsement. Revanth Reddy said the mandate underscores the need to advance development and welfare initiatives with greater responsibility.

CM Revanth  revealed that Congress secured 51% of the votes, the main opposition BRS received 38%, and BJP garnered 8%. Highlighting Hyderabad’s importance, he said the city contributes 60–65% of Telangana’s budget revenue, making its development, protection, and strategic planning a top priority for the government. He promised to address traffic issues and transform Hyderabad into a city free from waterbody and drainage problems.

The CM criticized opposition parties for obstructing the Musi river rejuvenation project, which he said hampers efforts to improve the lives of residents in the river’s catchment areas. He also accused Union Minister Kishan Reddy of blocking central funds, noting that BJP, which received 65,000 votes in the last parliamentary election, failed to even secure 25% of those votes in the by-election and lost its deposit. He appealed to Kishan Reddy to cooperate for Hyderabad’s development.
