Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for 12 districts across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall over the next two days. The early arrival of the southwest monsoon has triggered this advisory, with the monsoon system already reaching the Andaman coast.
According to the IMD, rainfall activity is expected to intensify on Saturday and Sunday. Several regions in both Telugu states have already recorded showers, with conditions becoming increasingly favourable for widespread rainfall.
In Andhra Pradesh, moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in the districts of Alluri Sitharama Raju, Parvathipuram Manyam, Anakapalli, Kakinada, Srikakulam, Guntur, Kurnool, and Anantapur.
In Telangana, 12 districts including Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda, and Warangal have been placed under an orange alert. The IMD has advised local authorities and residents to remain vigilant.

Hyderabad Rains Intensify:
Rainfall began in parts of Hyderabad on Thursday night and continued into Friday, leading to a significant drop in temperatures. Localities such as Ramanthapur, Uppal, Tarnaka, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Attapur, Mehdipatnam, Falaknuma, Alwal, Secunderabad, Chintal, and several areas in the Old City reported consistent rain. With dense cloud cover prevailing, further rainfall is expected across the city.

Authorities have urged residents in vulnerable areas to take necessary precautions as heavy rainfall may lead to waterlogging and disruptions in low-lying regions.
