Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for the Telugu states, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next three days. In Telangana, Hyderabad is likely to receive heavy rain within the next three hours. Several areas, including Sangareddy, Vikarabad, and Rangareddy districts, have already experienced intense rainfall, causing significant traffic congestion.
Authorities have advised the public to remain alert and urged fishermen to avoid venturing into the sea due to adverse weather conditions.
In Andhra Pradesh, districts likely to receive moderate to heavy rainfall include Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Nellore, Tirupati, Kadapa, Anantapur, and Kurnool.
In Telangana, isolated heavy rains are expected in Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Nizamabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, Khammam, Warangal, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Medak, and Mahabubnagar districts. The IMD has advised residents in these areas to take necessary precautions.
