Hyderabad: In a recent statement, Hyderabad Commissioner A.V. Ranganath warned residents against encroaching on roads and public spaces, stressing that any such violations will be dealt with immediately. The Commissioner assured that there would be no hindrances on roads within the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits, with the authorities closely monitoring and addressing any encroachments.
Ranganath also urged citizens to ensure that public spaces such as parks, schools, libraries, community halls, and primary health centers remain dedicated to their intended purposes. He emphasized that if these spaces were found to be encroached upon, they would be cleared and restored for public use without delay. Officials were instructed to adopt a strict approach in preventing the occupation of these areas.

Complaints have emerged regarding obstructions to roadways, particularly through walls that have been erected, causing disruption to traffic. On Monday, 52 complaints were received by the Hyderabad Public Grievance Cell regarding the illegal occupation of public spaces. Residents reported that areas designated for public use were being reallocated for private purposes, with some citing the use of Full Tank Level (FTL) regulations for lakes as a reason for construction permits being denied.
The Commissioner has directed an immediate investigation into these matters and ordered the removal of any encroachments. He also assured the public that the process of determining the FTL for lakes would be completed soon, addressing the concerns raised by the residents.
This move is part of ongoing efforts by the Hyderabad Police and municipal authorities to ensure proper use of public infrastructure and to prevent any illegal occupation of land or public spaces.
