Hyderabad has been placed on high alert following a massive car bomb explosion in Delhi. The blast occurred in a vehicle parked near Gate 1 of Red Fort Metro Station, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuring several others. The force of the explosion destroyed nearby cars and two-wheelers, raising concerns that the explosives may have been remotely detonated. In response, authorities have issued high alert not only near the Red Fort but across several major cities, including Hyderabad.
The central government has reacted swiftly, tightening security in Delhi and other key cities. Police forces have been put on heightened alert, and additional security measures are being enforced to prevent any terrorist activity. In Hyderabad, the city police have imposed high alert across three commissionerates and advised residents to report suspicious individuals, objects, or vehicles. Citizens have been urged to stay indoors as much as possible and avoid gathering in groups.
Enhanced security checks have been carried out in Hyderabad and other regions. Authorities have conducted extensive inspections in crowded areas, including Old City, and directed vehicle checks and cordons at high-traffic zones. All police stations in the state have received special instructions to maintain close surveillance over sensitive locations. Security has been intensified at major landmarks such as Charminar, Golconda Fort, Mecca Masjid, Koti, Abids, Gokul Chat, and all metro stations.
