The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall across the Telugu states for the next five days due to a low-pressure system forming over the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. The system is also expected to bring heavy showers to Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Coastal Andhra Pradesh is likely to experience heavy rains on August 4 and 5, while Rayalaseema will receive rainfall from August 3 to 6. Light to moderate rain is also anticipated in Lakshadweep, Karnataka, Kerala, and Yanam over the coming week, with wind speeds expected to reach 40–50 km/h.

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, sunny and cloudy conditions will prevail during the day, with sudden light to moderate rain likely in the evening. Telangana districts, including Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Yadagirigutta, Sircilla, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, and Nalgonda, may experience heavy rainfall. In Andhra Pradesh, while some areas are set to receive showers, other districts could see higher daytime temperatures with increased evening humidity. Heavy to light rainfall is forecast for Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, East and West Godavari, Guntur, Nellore, Tirupati, Anantapur, Chittoor, and Ongole.

Authorities have advised residents to stay alert and avoid unnecessary travel. Fishermen have been specifically warned to take precautions, while those living in low-lying areas are urged to prepare for potential flooding by securing essential supplies in advance.
