Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Director General of Police (DGP) Om Prakash was found murdered at his residence in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, on Sunday afternoon. The retired IPS officer, who served as the state police chief from 2015 to 2017, sustained multiple stab wounds, police officials confirmed.

Preliminary reports suggest that a domestic dispute may have led to the incident. Om Prakash’s wife, Pallavi, has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated by the police. According to sources, financial distress and mounting debt may have contributed to tensions within the family.

Authorities are also probing allegations that Om Prakash had recently transferred his assets directly to his son, bypassing his wife. This development is being considered a possible motive behind the crime.
