Uke Abbaiah, a former MLA from Illandu in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district, passed away at the age of 70. He had been battling health issues for some time and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad, where he passed away.
Three-Term MLA with a Distinguished Political Career
Abbaiya began his political journey in 1983, winning his first term as an MLA from Burgampahad on a CPI ticket during the undivided Andhra Pradesh era. He later represented Illandu twice as a TDP MLA in 1994 and 2009. In subsequent elections, he contested on a TRS ticket in 2014 and as an independent candidate in 2019.
Political leaders from across parties have expressed their condolences, mourning the loss of a veteran leader who served with dedication and integrity.
