The Telangana phone tapping case has sparked significant interest as the Nampally court shocked Bhujanga Rao, Thirupathanna, and Praneeth Rao by accepting the chargesheet filed against them. The court also denied default bail to Radha Kishan Rao and the other three accused who had petitioned for bail, citing delays in filing the chargesheet. Initially, the court had rejected the chargesheet three times—first due to typographical errors, and subsequently, on the grounds that the case was still under review. Following government authorization, Hyderabad police refiled the chargesheet, which was finally accepted by the court. Bail for the accused was consequently denied.
With the chargesheet now accepted, investigative efforts will proceed in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to secure blue or red corner notices against absconding suspects Prabhakar Rao and Shravan Kumar, currently residing in the US. According to a senior police officer, filing the chargesheet was necessary to pursue Interpol assistance through the CBI.
