Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday announced a stern policy aimed at ensuring government employees take responsibility for their parents’ welfare. Speaking at Shilpakala Vedika during the appointment letter distribution ceremony for newly selected Group-2 candidates, Revanth declared that any government employee found neglecting their parents would face a salary deduction of 10 to 15 percent. He said the deducted amount would be directly transferred to the parents on the same day the employee’s salary is credited.

The Chief Minister further revealed that his government plans to introduce a special law soon to implement this rule. Emphasizing the moral duty of every individual toward their parents, Revanth reminded employees not to forget the sacrifices their parents made to shape their lives. “Your parents turned their blood into sweat to make you who you are today—never neglect them,” he said. Revanth, along with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, and Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, handed over appointment letters to 783 selected Group-2 candidates.

Revanth Reddy also reflected on Telangana’s statehood struggle, recalling the sacrifices made by students and unemployed youth. He paid tribute to martyrs such as Srikanthachari, Venugopal Reddy, Eeshan Reddy, and Yadayya, who gave their lives for the cause of Telangana. The Chief Minister accused the previous government of ignoring the aspirations of the unemployed youth despite being in power for ten years. He asserted that if the former rulers had truly respected the vision of the martyrs, lakhs of jobs could have been filled eight years ago.

Highlighting the contrast between the past and present administrations, Revanth said that while no Group-1 recruitment had been conducted for 15 years, his government completed the process soon after assuming office. He noted that the Group-2 recruitment drive had also been successfully concluded and that 60,000 jobs had been filled within the first year of his government. Criticizing the previous regime, he alleged that it deliberately filed legal cases to stall recruitment drives and used corruptly built social media networks to spread misinformation against the current administration.
