Hyderabad, April 4: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday conducted a high-level review with officials of the Education Department and Education Commission to assess the current state of primary education and explore potential reforms. The meeting focused on identifying areas that require systemic changes to strengthen foundational learning across the state.
During the session, the Chief Minister directed officials to draft new education policies aligned with local conditions and best practices from other states and countries. Education Commission Chairman Akunuri Murali presented a comparative analysis of educational policies implemented elsewhere, aiding the discussions on reform models.
Emphasizing the broader objective, CM Revanth Reddy stated that the state’s education policy must evolve to contribute to improved living standards for citizens. He stressed that the revised framework should enhance both language proficiency and subject knowledge among students. The government, he assured, is prepared to allocate the necessary financial resources to implement these reforms effectively.
Retired IAS officer Jayaprakash Narayan, who participated in the meeting, made several key recommendations.
