Seeking Rs 22,000 crore for Hyderabad Metro Phase-2, CM Revanth emphasized the need for central approval for the southern section of the Regional Ring Road. He also proposed the construction of a Greenfield highway and a parallel Greenfield railway zone connecting the dry port to Bandar port. Highlighting the significance of the Musi river rejuvenation project, he sought funding, drawing parallels with Gujarat’s Sabarmati riverfront development. He further suggested linking the Godavari river with Musi to ensure a clean water supply.
Additionally, the Chief Minister requested approval for 27 new sewage treatment plants and funds for flood prevention measures, including the construction of retaining walls and embankment strengthening. He also called for the resolution of pending issues under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, 2014.
Following the meeting, CM Revanth stated that he had formally placed Telangana’s requests before the Prime Minister. He urged Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay to take responsibility for securing central funds, emphasizing that if the funds were allocated, the state government would publicly acknowledge their efforts. The Prime Minister, he noted, had also handed over a representation concerning the release of Telangana’s share of funds for five key projects.
