Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday extended an open invitation to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to participate in a transparent and constructive discussion on the Krishna River water issue. Speaking after attending a PowerPoint presentation by Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy at Praja Bhavan, Revanth stated that the state government is ready to consider KCR’s suggestions if they are in Telangana’s interest.
Revanth emphasized that the government is open to expert opinions and legislative scrutiny. “Mr. KCR, you are welcome to join the discussion. We will invite subject experts and present our documents. If your suggestions are valid, we are ready to incorporate them. We respect your experience,” the Chief Minister said. He also added that if KCR’s health does not permit his attendance in the Assembly, the government is willing to conduct a mock Assembly session at the former CM’s Erravalli farmhouse.
The Chief Minister stressed that his government will not compromise on Telangana’s water rights. “Even if God stands in our way, we will fight to protect Telangana’s rightful share of Krishna waters,” he asserted. Addressing the political dynamics within the opposition, Revanth remarked that KCR’s son K. T. Rama Rao claims to be the alternative, but such internal family matters should be settled privately. “We are open to dialogue anywhere, anytime. I will personally visit Erravalli if needed,” he added. Revanth concluded by asserting that Praja Bhavan is not a closed fortress but a platform where anyone can raise concerns in the interest of public justice.
