Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to stay alert in response to rising cases of seasonal diseases such as dengue, chikungunya, and viral fevers across various hospitals. He expressed concern over the increasing number of cases and emphasized the need for preventive measures to avoid outbreaks.
Revanth called for intensified efforts in mosquito control, including fogging and spraying, in all towns and villages across the state, in addition to Greater Hyderabad. He directed that fogging should be conducted regularly in all areas under the GHMC jurisdiction, and that officials should frequently visit the field for inspections.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review meeting at the Secretariat with Medical and Health Minister Damodar Seelam and officials from relevant departments. He warned that any indifference from employees and staff towards public health measures would not be tolerated. The Chief Minister instructed GHMC officials, Medical and Health Department officials, and district collectors to work in coordination. He also suggested involving police departments, voluntary organizations, and media to raise public awareness about seasonal diseases if necessary.
Revanth Reddy further directed collectors and panchayat raj officials in all districts to immediately implement special action plans against seasonal diseases. He advised collectors to conduct field visits to assess conditions in villages and towns, identify the causes of outbreaks in areas with reported cases of dengue and chikungunya, and undertake necessary sanitation measures.
