At the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy delivered a key address, stating that the state is ready to position India as a global leader in artificial intelligence. He proposed setting up an “AI War Room” in collaboration with central and state governments to closely monitor developments in the AI sector, noting that Hyderabad, with access to the latest technology, is an ideal location for this initiative.
Revanth Reddy urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to establish a National AI Council, modeled on the GST Council, to oversee AI regulation and development. Warning that India missed opportunities during previous industrial revolutions, he emphasized that the nation must not repeat the same mistakes in the AI era. He also highlighted the need for India to expand beyond software services and become a global leader in core AI technologies, including AI chips (GPUs) and data storage platforms.

The Chief Minister highlighted Hyderabad’s internationally accredited AI-skilled university, which can serve as a hub for research and human resource development. He also called for a dedicated “AI Startup Fund” to encourage young entrepreneurs to become industrial leaders in the AI sector.
To keep pace with rapid technological changes, Revanth Reddy proposed holding AI summits every six months instead of annually. He assured that cities like Hyderabad are fully equipped to host international-level conferences, reflecting Telangana’s commitment to AI innovation, skill development, and global competitiveness.
