Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks regarding Congress’s promises during the recent Maharashtra election campaign. Taking to Twitter, CM Revanth highlighted that the Congress government in Telangana assumed office on December 7, 2023, and within two days fulfilled two key pledges: providing free bus travel for women on RTC buses and raising health coverage under Arogyasri to Rs 10 lakh.
Expressing gratitude to the public for their support, CM Revanth emphasized that his administration is committed to fulfilling all election promises. Over the past 11 months, Telangana’s women have benefited from over 101 crore free bus journeys, saving a total of Rs 3,433.36 crore within a year. Additionally, he noted that Telangana implemented the nation’s largest state-level farmer debt waiver, benefiting 22.22 lakh farmers and waiving loans up to Rs 2 lakh. This initiative resulted in Rs 18,000 crore being deposited into farmers’ accounts within 25 days.
Further accomplishments include free electricity for households up to 200 units and LPG cylinders priced at ₹500 in Telangana, a stark contrast to higher prices in BJP-ruled states. Since Congress took office, over 1.31 crore gas cylinder refills have been provided, a move aimed at alleviating financial burdens on households.
